Our event was organized on the 9th of October 2012 during the DIDACTA International /which takes place every year between 9th and 11th of October and became the meeting point of education for South East Europe.

Lectures, presentations and discussions took place in “Vihren” conference room of the Inter Expo and Congress Centre, equipped with a computer and multimedia devices /3 panel sessions for a half a day/.
The aim of the panel sessions was to present some analysis about the active ageing of the people over 50 in Bulgaria – the intergenerational and intercultural learning – the qualification of elderly for their new tasks and the integration of intergenerational learning into the process of lifelong learning, the civil society and civic engagement with focus on fostering the social participation of older people, and how to help them to be prepared for this task has been discussed.
Different analyses and practices were presented during the seminar, followed by active discussions – analyses of the basic key factors for better life of the elder people – independent life, participation in the society and active participation at the labour market. In the presentation was concluded, that in Bulgaria there are still physical and psychological barriers for independent living and age discrimination in the labour market.
